Volunteer Opportunities

Packers & Organizers

packers and oganizers

The Fall Blitzes are coming! Grab some friends and/or family and join us for an evening of feeling good and doing good. Packers and Organizers help to get our donations ready for delivery to shelters, either by helping us pack bags and/or purses or by helping to maintain our storage spaces. If you want to meet new people and help your community, then come volunteer with us as a Packer and/or Organizer. Check out our event page or fill out the volunteer form below for more information.

The period purse volunteer drivers

We are also in need of drivers who deliver our purses to shelters. This commitment would be one drop off a month from our command centre to a shelter in our city.

Saturday Night Outreach

volunteer veahavta saturday night outreach
On the third Saturday of each month, our team piles into a van with the crew from Veahavta from 6 pm to 12 am, to deliver our purses directly to people experiencing homelessness and sleeping on the streets. We are currently seeking volunteers willing to spend one night per month on the outreach van delivering our purses and other goods to people living on the streets in Toronto.

Mini Drives

the period purse mini drives
The Period Purse was built from the grassroots up by small groups of passionate individuals. Want to do a mini drive with your colleagues, friends, or book club? Send us an email! We'll send you a handbook, some flyers, and some pointers on what to collect. No need to gather all the items, just a select few collected by a small group can go a long way.

start a chapter with the period purse
Do you live in a city where TPP has no chapter? If you're interested in launching a chapter local to you, we will help you every step of the way. Just one or two "blitzes" and packing parties a year can make a huge impact in the lives of menstruators in your town.

Menstruation Nation

Teachers and students- this one's for you! Middle schools and high schools are the perfect place to start a squad for The Period Purse. Form a small group, gather supplies, give back to your community, and start a discussion about menstruation equality. We will support you every step of the way, including sharing a how-to handbook with tips for forming your own Menstruation Nation group
