Free Menstrual Education Sessions for Schools, Adults and Community Organizations

The Period Purse offers free menstrual education and training sessions for all ages and genders, in English and French. Developed in partnership with medical professionals and led by trained Facilitators, our inclusive, period-positive presentations are offered live virtually and in-person, in select locations.


Menstrual education is a key driver in alleviating period poverty. Talking openly about periods helps to build confidence and reduce stigma. Our sessions are designed to encourage active participation to explore menstruation in a safe, shame-free environment.

Bring The Period Purse to your school, community organization or workplace!

Period education sessions are for for kids in Grades 5-12, post-secondary students and adults of all genders, and cover topics such as:

  • Current information on menstrual cycles and healthy periods 

  • Period poverty in Canada

  • How to get started with advocacy for menstrual equity in your community 

  • The features and benefits of various period products, including reusable period products

Each one hour presentation encourages active participation. Our Facilitators are sensitive to the needs and interests of the age group present. 

Following a session, participants may have:
  • Increased comfort with menstruation 

  • Reduced period shame or stigma

  • More knowledgeable and confident about periods
