The Impact of a Bloody Legend: Why should I join? 

Periods aren’t a choice, they’re a part of life. Access to menstrual health should be too.

But for the 1 in 6 Canadian menstruators who have or will experience period poverty, that isn't the case. 

We don’t pay for hand soap and toilet paper in public toilets. Why are pads and tampons treated differently? 

There isn’t a simple answer to that question – but joining the Bloody Legends is a simple way to be part of the solution. 

Since 2017, The Period Purse has been tackling period poverty in Canada through three high-impact programs: 

• Outreach: Distributing period products to shelters, schools, and communities across the country so the folks who need them most can access them for free. 

• Education: Ending period stigma and empowering menstrual health by way of inclusive, evidence-based, and period-positive education. 

• Advocacy: Building partnerships, raising awareness, and collaborating with all levels of government to inch us closer and closer to menstrual equity – with somanywins over the years!

Every month – for less than the cost of one restaurant dinner, 2-3 coffee shop lattes, or your bundle of streaming subscriptions – you can help us:

• Provide free menstrual products to the people who need them most

• Deliver stigma-smashing education in schools and communities

• Advocate for lasting change so periods can stop being a barrier to health & dignity
