Well Red Book Club | The Period Purse Canada

The Period Purse Book Club

The book for our first annual Well Red Book Club is "Heavy Flow" by Amanda Laird. We will deep dive into the history of period shame, stigma and its effects on women's health and wellness today.

This book will also provide a crash course in menstrual self-care. Heavy Flow aims to lift the veil on menstruation, change the narrative, and break the "curse" once and for all.

Buy the book from your local small book store. Borrow from Toronto Public Library. Read during Summer 2021. Join us on Wednesday, August 4th from 7:30-8:30pm EST for an online book club chat and interview with the author.

Let's learn more about our menstrual cycle - most of us see our periods as nothing more than a source of inconvenience, shame, and stigma. But our menstrual cycle is a barometer of health and wellness that is as telling as our pulse or blood pressure.
